The holidays are in full swing which means family dinners and seasonal get-togethers are right around the corner. These events are the perfect time to catch up with family and friends as you enjoy traditions and good food. However, hosting these events can be stressful and requires forethought and a lot of work, especially when little ones are attending.

If you‘re hosting, make your job easier this year and provide some quick and fun entertainment for the little ones with our printable activity book.

Ways to Keep the Kiddos Entertained During the Holidays

During the holidays, it’s fun to catch up with old friends and family. However, if you have a few little ones in tow, that much-needed adult time can be hard to come by. For your next holiday event, try a few of these fun entertainment ideas for kiddos that will keep them happy and busy for hours.

Kids-Only Room

Turn your guest room or office into a kids-only room for the night. You can put down plastic or newspaper and provide the little ones with craft materials to play with. This will give them a fun place to be kids when the adult party gets a little too boring.

Decoration Stations

For some holiday-themed crafts, set up a few decoration stations for your little ones. Try incorporating a cookie, gingerbread house or mini Christmas tree decoration activity station to keep your little ones entertained throughout the night. The kids will have a blast, and they might even share their creations with you!

Scavenger Hunt

If you’re all out of ideas, a scavenger hunt is the perfect way to keep your kids busy while you catch up with your loved ones. Make sure to include a small prize as a little incentive to keep looking.

Kids’ Table

The kids’ table is a holiday tradition for many families. It’s a rite of passage to sit there. Make your kids’ table memorable this year and add interactive decorations and at-the-table activities, like our printable holiday activity book to keep your little ones entertained even after they finish eating.

How to Make the Activity Books for the Kids’ Table

Kids’ Table Activities Book for the Holiday Hostess

If you want to make the kids’ table extra special this year, try adding some activity books to your place settings for some dinner-time entertainment. Our adorable printable activity book includes 11 fun activities for kids of all ages. From coloring sheets to reindeer name generators, these activities are sure to keep your little one entertained throughout dinner. The best part is these booklets are easy to put together, and you’ll still have plenty of time to get the rest of the holiday preparations done.

Materials

  • White paper — use cardstock for best results

  • Ribbon or twine

  • Markers, crayons or colored pencils

Instructions

Download our printable kids’ table activity book and print the pages double-sided on cardstock for best results. Stack the sheets on top of each other in order, so that the cover of the booklet is on the bottom and the snowflake coloring sheet is on top, then fold the sheets in half. Poke two holes through the pages on the fold, about three inches apart. String twine or ribbon through the holes and tie in a bow.

You now have a complete activity book! For some extra Christmas flair, add some jingle bells or other festive embellishments. Put together one of these booklets for each little one who will be attending your event for non-stop entertainment all night long.
